Your reading preferences and practice history stay on your device. Gutka Duo does not require an account or include advertising or analytics software. Opening daily Hukamnama uses the third-party service described below.
Data on your device
Your practice history, Bani reading positions, reading preferences, layout cache, and optional reminder settings are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to us and are not synced to a server by Gutka Duo. Removing the app or clearing its local data may remove those items.
Daily Hukamnama
Each time you open Hukamnama, the app requests the published reading from GurbaniNow over an internet connection. The request does not include your saved reading positions, practice history, or reminder settings. Hukamnama text, page layouts, and reading positions are not saved between visits.
GurbaniNow receives technical information needed to handle the request, including your IP address. Its published privacy policy describes automatic collection of technical and usage information for security, operation, analytics, and reporting. That service’s handling of request information is governed by its own policy.
What the app does not use
Gutka Duo has no accounts, advertising, analytics SDKs, subscriptions, cloud sync, or social features. It does not request access to your device’s location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or health data.
Notifications
If you choose to enable a reading reminder, the reminder is scheduled locally by iOS. You can change or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings at any time.
Links and email
The app may offer links to email or the web. Those open only when you choose them. Once you leave Gutka Duo, the privacy practices of the email app or website you use apply.
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send so we can respond. Please avoid including sensitive personal information. This website is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may process technical request information under its privacy statement.
